Sustainability, Coca-Cola Hbc Italia is going to invest half a billion in 10 years

At the centre of the investments are the company's 6 production plants in Campania, Veneto, Piemonte, Abruzzo and Basilicata

Half a billion euros investment in Italy over the last 10 years to promote sustainable and inclusive progress, focused on the transition to a circular economy model. This is what comes out from the 19th Coca-Cola HBC Italia Sustainability Report entitled La scelta di guardare lontano’ reviewed by Deloitte & Touche, prepared according to GRI Standards in accordance with international reporting parameters. At the centre of the investments are the company’s 6 production plants in Campania, Veneto, Piemonte, Abruzzo and Basilicata in which Coca-Cola HBC Italia has adopted, the document says, ‘the best production technologies’. In particular, 2022 was the year of the reopening of the CCH Circular PET factory in Gaglianico, which is now a plant capable of transforming up to 30,000 tonnes of PET per year into 100% recycled plastic (rPET) preforms destined for bottling the beverage portfolio in Italy.

Added to this is the focus on innovation in primary and secondary packaging, to facilitate its circularity, with the achievement of milestones such as the increasing use of recycled plastic (rPET), now extended to all of the company’s PET beverages, and the implementation of ‘Tethered Cap’ to keep the caps tethered to the bottles, with the aim of reducing plastic leakage into the environment.
