Philip Morris

Philip Morris Italia confirms the importance of Southern Italy in its growth strategy: it is the most important buyer of tobacco in Campania, accounting for 65% of the region’s tobacco production. The economic impact of Philip Morris Italia’s investments on the agricultural tobacco supply chain in Campania is estimated at €82 million on an annual basis. The company has pledged to invest EUR 500 million over five years (2023 – 2027) to purchase Italian tobacco. The company’s presence in the country, in addition to investments, includes also the valorisation of human capital, and here too the Mezzogiorno plays a fundamental role: from the University of Naples Federico II, several are the realities of the world of training involved in the Philip Morris Institute for Manufacturing Competences (IMC), the Philip Morris group centre for advanced training and the development of competences linked to Industry 4.0
We have invested in the south of Italy because there is excellence that can be brought out in every region: here we employ over 11 thousand people. We are proud of these achievements, which allow us to increase our presence in Southern Italy with this new advanced service centre for Italian consumers of our smokeless products.
